Description

Duette is a truly unique product in the audio world: a compact loudspeaker designed specifically for installations where space or aesthetics require placing the loudspeaker near a boundary, such as a wall or in a bookshelf.

With traditional loudspeaker designs, near-boundary placements wreak havoc on the performance characteristics audiophiles most prize. The soundstage collapses, dynamics are compromised, and a smooth, linear frequency response becomes a distant memory.

Reviews

Note that the Duette is easy to drive. But, because it’s so revealing, don’t think of wasting the speaker’s potential with cheap amplifiers. What seem like subtle differences between CD players, or LP pressings, suddenly become vivid – it’s a retailer and reviewer’s dream, because the Duette lets the listener hear everything. But at the same time, it’s not so in-your-face as to be oppressive.

And here’s where Wilson succeeded in making the Duette pretty darn close to ‘all things to all people’: If you want to rock, it will tear the roof off. If you want smooth, it will pour Dino’s drink. I played material from Katrina & the Waves power pop to the sheer silk of Art Garfunkel to the cheesy mono original of ‘Volare’ every song handled deftly and with respect to its genre. Read More
